It's Not The Surgery. It's The Wait.
Most women with a surgery date on the calendar think the hard part is already handled. It's not. The hard part is everything before it.
Because here's what nobody tells you: your surgeon sets the date, then checks out until the day itself. Those months in between? You're on your own — taking the stairs one at a time, doing the math before every parking lot, holding your breath every time you stand up.
So doctors send you off with the same advice: get a brace, be careful, wait it out. But a brace doesn't help you get through the wait. It just gives you a new problem to manage.
❌ Rigid braces — Lock the joint instead of supporting it through the day. Bulky, pinches at the edges, one more thing to plan around.
❌ Compression sleeves — Roll down, squeeze the wrong spots, and trap heat until you're sweating underneath by midday. Treats your knee like any other joint instead of the one that's about to be operated on.
❌ Roll tape (KT Tape) — Takes ten minutes and a diagram to apply correctly, and most days you don't have ten spare minutes before you have to be somewhere.
None of these failed because they don't work. They failed because none of them were built for the specific job of getting a worn knee through months of waiting, one day at a time.
